60% COMMUTERS FLOUTING COVID NORMS IN GOA|| STATE TO REVIEW SOP ON MONDAY || FACE MASK FINES TO BE ENHANCED RS. 500: GOA HEALTH MINISTER

The state government will review standard operating procedures of COVID-19 on Monday, as several tourist and party organizers are flouting social distancing norms during the New Year celebrations, said Goa Health Minister, Vishwajeet Rane.

Addressing a press conference in Panjim on Saturday Rane, said that he would be meeting the Goa chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Monday and requesting him enhance fine to Rs. 500 for not wearing face masks across beaches and allied tourist destinations. He however said that people travelling in Goa should voluntarily follow covid norms & not take advantage of leniency of the govt.

He maintained that 60% travelers out of 24,000 commuters travelling daily from Goa airport, do not wear mask. Rane said that people travelling to Goa will have to be more responsible for following C-19 norms, to keep out break in control.
