Accusing that Goa Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane and CM Pramod Sawant is highhandedly attempting to grab farmers fertile land, several Melauli villagers on Tuesday warned the state administration to create law and order situation, if demarcation process for setting up permanent infrastructure for Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT ) was done without taking them into confidence.
Villagers have appealed members of civil society and allied activist for their support. Various green activist and Human right activist are closely monitoring demarcation processes. According to sources, villagers are expected to stage protest in Melauli village from 9.30 AM .
Earlier, this day the state administration after deploying extensive police force attempted to carry out demarcation process. The district administrations faced sever outrage from villagers while fixing boundaries for IIT . The police officials were forced to withdraw from the site, after villagers turned furious while opposing the government’s process. Minor scuffle was reported between villagers and police officials.
Goa chief minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant has asserted media that he would review protesters situation.
