Central Empowered Committee ( CEC ), Constituted by the Supreme Court Of India will conduct a ground zero inspection in regards with Doubling of Railway Line from Tinaghat to Vasco, 4 Lane National Highway 4 A from Km 84 to Km 97 and Laying of Goa — Tamnar Transmission Line from 20th to 24th January in Goa and Karnataka.
According to Amarnatha Shetty, member secretary of the CEC – the visit has been scheduled in regards with Application No. 1440 of 2020 filed before CEC by the Goa Foundation through its Secretary Dr. Claude Alvares.
P.V. Jayakrishnan, Chairman, CEC, Amarnatha Shetty, Member Secretary, CEC, Mahendra Vyas, member and A D N Rao, Amicus Curiae will arrive in Goa from Delhi on 20th January.
The CEC will visit proposed 4 lane NH-4A falling in Goa and Karnataka and the proposed alignment of Goa Tamnar Transmission Line in Kali Tiger Reserve and forest areas falling in Karnataka on 21st January. This will be followed by discussion with the concerned officials of State Government of Karnataka and project proponents.
On 22nd January, proposed doubling of Railway line from Tinaghat to Kulem. The site visit will be by Rail inspection Car.
Site inspection of the proposed LILO of 1 ckt Goa Tamnar Transmission Line Project and visit to Goa Port Trust will be conducted on 23rd January. This will be followed by discussion with officials of State Government of Goa and project proponents.
The concerned officials of the State Government of Goa and Karnataka and representatives of the user Agencies / Project are directed to be present during the site visit.
