The 51st edition of International Film Festival of India will pay tribute to the great freedom fighter and founder of Azad Hind Fauj Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary on 23rd January, 2021.
In Netaji’s honour, the movie ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero’ by Shyam Benegal will be screened during the festival.
“Netaji remains one of the most beloved national heroes and an icon of India’s freedom struggle. The screening of the movie has been scheduled to honour and remember Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s indomitable personality and selfless service to the nation. On the 125th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter, we fondly remember Netaji’s unparalleled contribution to the country,” said Chaitanya Prasad, IFFI Director.
India’s formidable freedom fighter, who said “Tum mujhe khoon do, mai tumhe azadi dunga” (Give me blood and I will give you freedom), was a man of action. In the fight against the British rule, he called upon the youth of the country to come together and fight for Independence. He led the youth wing of the Indian National Congress in the late 1920s and later became the president of the party in 1938.
Netaji’s legacy remains immortal and continues to inspire millions even today.
