The Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, on Friday informed the legislative assembly that the state government will be obliged to take decision in regards with the 3 linear projects, according to report submitted by Supreme Court – appointed Central Empowered Committee. He said that the state government has placed its views about the projects before the CEC.
Dr. Sawant, informed the winter house that the government will not allow MPT to handle above existing 12 MMT coal limit. Stating that around 4500 people were directly dependent on Vasco port, Dr. Sawant maintained that it had directed MPT to explore alternate logistics handling avenues.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai and Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginaldo earlier this day had tabled a private resolution at the assembly demanding scrapping for doubling tracking for South Western Railways, Expansion of National Highway and Tanmar Power project.
