GOA HEAVY RAIN ALERT: INDIAN NAVY, COAST GUARD, NDRF ON STANDBY MODE TO HANDLE UNTOWARD EVENTUALITIES

As IMD predicts very heavy rain fall across Indian western coast, various national agencies including Indian Navy, Coast Guard, NDRF are on standby mode.  According to Defence PRO,  the Indian Navy is on standby mode in Goa, to handle untoward eventualities.   

IMD has sounded Red weather alert for Goa for next 24 hours.  Various dams and water reservoirs across the state have started over flowing since last week. Flash flooding  is expected along banks of low lying rivers.   Landslides, uprooting of trees  may occur in hilly regions.
